Learn Every-so-often Something New (LESN)

Every-so-often, I stumble upon some new and interesting info/fact/knowledge. This is a chrono reverese list of them as I stumble upon them.

• Schmidt sting pain index is a pain scale rating the relative pain caused by different hymenopteran stings. Entomologist Justin Schmidt voluntarily subjected himself to the most painful insect stings and ranked them in scale of 0-4.

• Giffen good is a product that people consume more of as the price rises and vice versa. This is also stated as Giffen paradox stating that, with rise of price of bread, people consume more bread. This applies to a category of consumables that are very basic for survival.

• Strawberry fruit – Strawberry appears to have seeds outside the fruit. In reality, the thing we call strawberry fruit is just a pod and those things that looks like seeds are the actual individual fruits each encapsulating their own seeds.
